PLANTVOICE
Description: PLANTVOICE is the first biocompatible sap flow technology that identifies real-time variations in sap composition, linked to plant stress conditions. PLANTVOICE, as small as a toothpick, is inserted into the plant stem and enables real-time analysis of sap flow. Selected for the Proof Of Concept phase
Over 159 startups from 35 countries participated in the Call 4 Innovation "Beleaf - BeTheFuture 2023" by Philip Morris Italia in collaboration with Almacube, with the objective to make the tobacco production more sustainable.
Among them, 19 startups were selected for the pitching session, presenting innovative solutions in agritech, sustainability, and the circular economy. Of these, 4 finalist startups had the opportunity to enter the #codesign phase, collaborating with the company to validate their #technologies on real equipment and processes.
Finally, one organization was selected to develop a proof of concept.

Description:The e-4e project was launched in 2017 and represents a real challenge in the field of thermotechnology. The use of inorganic Phase Change Materials (PCMs) enables dynamic solutions for the storage and utilization of latent thermal energy through innovative PCM storage systems, such as ultra-thin panels for layering on roofs, floors, walls, and ceilings. The proposed solutions also include thermal batteries for semi-industrial and industrial applications, high-performance innovative heat pumps, compact storage systems for residential use, and the latest addition to our integrated systems, which the team has named COPs nine™.

Selected for the Proof Of Concept phase
The 1° and 2° editions of the Call 4 Innovation "BeLeaf - BeTheFuture" by Philip Morris Italia, the second of which was organized with Almacube, received applications from 170 start-ups.
During the selection process, 27 start-ups were selected for the pitching session, presenting solutions on agritech, sustainability and circular economy. Of these, 6 organizations were chosen for the co-design phase, where they collaborated with the company to test and validate their technologies in real industrial settings.
Finally, 2 organizations, one from each edition, were selected to develop a proof of concept, demonstrating the effectiveness of their innovative solutions.
